Write a letter to your brother in another region of your country informing him about the latest news at home

Answers

Answer 1

Dear brother.

First of all, I would like to say that we all miss you so much and hope that we can see each other soon.

I am writing this letter to tell you the news here at home, nothing bad has happened, but I want to tell you the latest events to make you feel closer to home.

First news: We have a dog! I'll put pictures of him in the wrapping so you can see how cute he is. He is a black Labrador and is very intelligent and cute. We were all very happy with his presence, except for our cat, Sally, who still doesn't like her new friend very much.

Mom is doing another renovation in the house, this time she decided to renovate the living room. She wants to make the room more compact to enlarge the kitchen. When you come to visit, the house will be completely different, but your room will be kept the same, although I asked Mom to stay with it.

Grandma will live with us next month. She is fine, but needs more frequent care, she will stay there in Josh's room, while Josh will move into the old garage.

As you can see, we are all doing well and making changes in our home and in our lives. I hope you are happy too.

P.S. Daddy is building a house for the dog. We haven't chosen his name yet. Suggestions?

With love,

Lili.

When Eric falls asleep, the setting changes from a modern to an ancient setting, as he is transported to the beginning of the Renaissance.

Why does this change happen? The change in scenery reinforces the passage of time. This is because Eric is transported back in time and this has a very profound impact on the story. Before transport, Eric is in the modern world and the scene presents modern features, technological devices, current facilities, among others. After transport, Eric finds himself in a very ancient time, where technology is low and customs are completely different.

This change of scenery creates many conflicts for Eric, which moves the story and causes dynamism.

Compare and contrast the concepts of topic and theme. Use examples from the novel to illustrate your answer. Your answer should be 150 words or less. Their eyes were watching god

Answers

Answer and Explanation:

When reading a novel, we should be able to identify the topic and theme of the story as the reading progresses. To identify this, we must keep in mind that the topic is the term that represents what the story is telling, while the theme is the term that represents the meanings and subjects that the story is addressing during the development of the plot.

We can better exemplify the difference between these two elements using the novel "Their eyes were watching god." This novel tells the story of a "mestizo" girl because she was a descendant of blacks and whites in a completely racist and intolerant environment, mainly for mestizos who were rejected by both the black population and the white population. This is the topic of the novel, which shows which story the novel tells.

Themes, on the other hand, are the concepts and subjects of history, which are the balance between love and independence, racial intolerance and the search for fulfillment, since these are concepts discussed and analyzed during the work.

What famous American writer doubted Shakespeare authorship? What was the point of his example of catfish fishing?

PLZZZZ HELP

Answers

Answer and Explanation:

Mark Twain was the famous American writer who doubted Shakespeare's authorship. For him, Shakespeare's works contained secret codes that, once unveiled, showed the name of the true author who was Francis Bacon. In this case, he used an example of catfish fishing to represent that Shakespeare was a character, an allegory created and publicized as a persona that was not real, but that was used as a way for Bacon to protect his identity and pretend to be someone else for a public that would not be able to discover the truth.

What makes the Japanese Relocation video in this lesson a primary source?
0 It was made many years after 1943, when the evacuations occurred.
O It includes firsthand interviews with relocated Japanese Americans.
O It contains both firsthand accounts and objective analysis of the situation.
O It gives a firsthand account of the assumptions behind the events of 1943.

Answers

Answer:

O It includes firsthand interviews with relocated Japanese Americans.

Explanation:

A primary source is a source that contains either a first-hand account of the event or any source created at the time of the event. The word "primary" means that is genuine and provides the best and most truthful version of the event(s).

For a source to be considered 'primary' in nature, it has to contain details that tell the most truthful and original information. It should not be revised, or copied, or reproduced from a source.

So, the Japanese Relocation video can be considered a primary source because of the fact that it contains firsthand interviews with the relocated Japanese Americans. By hearing about the historical event from the ones present during that time, the information can be deemed genuine and valid.

Thus, the correct answer is the second option.

Answer:

It gives a firsthand account of the assumptions behind the events of 1943.

Explanation:

Although the film summarizes the initial relocation and internment of Japanese Americans, it does so while the people are still being detained. The film provides a firsthand window into the mindset of non-Japanese Americans at the time.

These sources tend to be more subject to inaccuracies. c. These sources should be used to get an overview or general idea about your topic. d. All of the above statements are true of secondary sources.

Answers

Answer:

d. All of the above statements are true of secondary sources.

Explanation:

An information source can be defined as a system or medium through which informations, knowledge and ideas may be gotten and used by an individual.

Basically, an information source can either be a primary or secondary source of information. The source options for informations are television, radio, web, newspapers, journals, magazines etc.

The four (4) criteria used to evaluate source options are;

1. Accuracy: the user of this source of information should check if the data presented are accurate and credible. At this point, you should ensure that the informations provided are well researched and cited for verification.

2. Authority: you should endeavor to know who the author and publisher of the information source is. Also, it is important to know their qualifications.

3. Currency: it is necessary to know when the information source was created or produced by the author. Also, the user of this data should verify when it was published (in the case of a book) or if it requires an update (in the case of a website). Hence, the information source should be timely.

4. Objectivity: ensure that the source of information is unbiased, reliable, and should not only contain opinions but facts.

In conclusion, a secondary source is typically reliant or based on the primary source of information and as such it isn't a first hand experience. Some examples of secondary information source are articles, documentaries, scholarly books, etc.

Answer:

This image is used as a comparison of fairy tales to reality. D)

Who was Eleanor Roosevelt?

American politician, diplomat, pacifist, and activist Anna Eleanor Roosevelt. She served as first lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945, which makes her the longest-serving first lady in the country's history. She did so during her husband, President Franklin D. Roosevelt's four years in office.

Eleanor Roosevelt refers to Aladdin's lamp in her speech since the majority of her audience at the time would get the allusion. Genie's lamp, also known as the Magic Lamp or Aladdin's lamp, is a magical oil lamp that appears in the film Aladdin.

Can someone do a one paragraph summary of Milkweed (the whole book)

Answers

Jackboot control over Warsaw continues to tighten and with time all the Jews in city, including Misha, the other boys, and Janina’s family are forced into the ghetto. Janina’s family includes Mr. Milgrom, Mrs. Milgrom, and Uncle Shepsel. The family lives in a small room that Uncle Shepsel calls a “closet” (60). Jackboots build a wall around the ghetto and attempt to starve out the people within. Smuggling becomes commonplace in the city and Misha begins sneaking out of a “two bricks wide” hole in the wall to steal food (73). He then smuggles food for both the Milgroms and Doctor Korczak’s orphans. Misha is now considered an honorary member of the Milgrom family and Janina views him as an older brother. Soon, Janina begins to smuggle food, too.

This would make cookbooks, Sears, Roebuck catalogues, and telephone books science, which they are not. Sometimes science is defined simply as rationality, but that would make much of theology and metaphysics science, which they are not. Rationality is logical consistency, lack of contradiction. It is to be distinguished from reasonableness, the quality of a mind open to arguments and evidence opposed to its beliefs: a willingness to reconsider. Rationalists can be quite unreasonable or dogmatic. Rationalist metaphysicians and theologians are often certain about premises which come from intuition or revelation. Even paranoiacs may be thought of as rationalists, for they are commonly most rigorous in reasoning. But their premises, which they cling to in spite of all evidence, are absurd.WHAT SCIENCE ISScience is empirical, rational, general, and cumulative; and it is all four at once. Science is empirical in that all its conclusions are subject to test by sense experience. Observation is the base on which science rests, but scientific observation is more than keeping ones eyes open. It is observation made by qualified observers under controlled conditions of those things which confirm or disconfirm, verify or refute a theory. Sherlock Holmes* could tell by the stains on a vest what a man had eaten for breakfast. From a number of such observations he arrived at a theory about why and how a particular crime was committed. This procedure is excellent for detection but insufficient for science, because it yields only knowledge of particular events. Science would go on to ask why and how crime, not a particular crime, is committed. Science uses facts to test general theories and general theories to make predictions about particular facts.Scientific observations may be made of things as they exist, like the color of an apple or the temperature of the air, or it may be made of what results from an experiment. An experiment is the deliberate manipulation of conditions in order to bring about what we want to observe. If we want to test the hypothesis that a new plastic can withstand two hundred pounds of pressure without crumbling, we may have to create a situation in which such pressure is applied to a piece of the plastic, because it is unlikely that the situation already exists anywhere in the world, or if it does, that all other factors are kept constant. In some sciences, like astronomy, we do not sufficiently control the subject matter to experiment on italthough we do control the conditions of observationand we distinguish those sciences from others, like chemistry, in which experiment is possible, by calling the latter experimental sciences.Although all scientific thought ultimately rests on observation, there are vast portions of it which are entirely rational: analysis of the meaning of terms, deductions from existent theories, explorations of the logical relations among concepts and among theories. Logic is applied to science constantly because logic contains the rules of valid thinking. The application of mathematics is often thought, erroneously, to be an index of the status of any science. Of course, the more it can be applied usefully within a science, the more advanced the science. For mathematics functions both as a language in which scientific laws are stated, giving them the utmost precision, elegance, and economy, and as the basis of measurement. Many of the most significant advances in physics, astronomy, and chemistry have depended on advances in and application of mathematics. Without calculus the work of Isaac Newton would have been impossible. Yet great scientific work in other fields, performed by men like Pasteur, Darwin, and Pavlov (with whose names pasteurization, evolution, and conditioned response in psychology are associated), has used little or no mathematics. In the final sentence of the first paragraph, the authors choose to use the word absurd in order toA- demonstrate that even sound premises can lead to irrational conclusionsB- argue that evidence that seems illogical should not be considered by scientistsC-emphasize a previous distinction between rationality and reasonablenessD- imply that too much rigor can lead to nonsensical inferencesE- convey disdain for those who display uncertainty about their premises f(x) = 4x3 + 5x2 3x 6g(x) = 4x 5Find (f - g)(x). you earn $9.15 per hour painting a fence.
