Today I’m sharing a look that I wore over the weekend, bundled up in layers and big surprise…red!

How handsome does my little pup look in these photos?! I need to give him a big shout out because he has been such a good little guy to me through my pregnancy. While he is oh so naughty at times, he is seriously the sweetest thing in the world. I was SOOOO sick during the first 16 weeks of my pregnancy, throwing up multiple times a day and the thought of getting out of bed and getting dressed made me want to cry and vomit all at the same time (seriously, I don’t know how all you amazing women do the first trimester multiple times, you are all amazing!). My little Dasher was always there resting his face on my legs while my face was pressed against the toilet seat puking my guts out (sorry that was probably TMI). I swear he has this sense there’s a little human growing inside of me because he is always sniffing and putting his face on my tummy (although he doesn’t mind climbing on me and giving the baby a little squish, he has no sense of personal space what so ever).

So to my Dashie boy, thank you for being such a sweet little dog. You’re my best friend and you’re going to make the BEST big brother!

xo, Rach

  1. Such a cute look and he is a handsome boy! So sorry to hear your first trimester was rough. I remember a lot of snuggling with my pup during my pregnancy. They definitely know something is up.

  2. Loving the coat and that hood is so glam!! What size are you wearing? I ordered the 2 and have a similar body type as you minus the baby bump;) hoping it was the right size!

  3. I can’t imagine morning sickness! Sounds as if it goes on all day long, too. All the mothers of the world have my admiration, too.

You look great in your outfit, and that pup of yours is adorable!

  4. The coat looks super cozy, so nice for the winter time.
I’m sorry to hear that you felt so sick during the first weeks of your pregnancy. Hope you’re feeling better now!

  5. Dogs are just the best, aren’t they?! They can definitely sense when you are sick or feeling down and know just how to be there and cheer you up. He can definitely pick up on your pregnancy and will be protective of you and your belly. Best wishes on your pregnancy journey- the outcome will make it all worth it! xoxo

  6. Your message was so, so sweet and I can definitely understand how you feel towards your baby boy, they are just the best friends in the world! So excited for some pics with Dash and the baby, soon ;)

  7. Nice comfy look. Glad you are doing better. I had morning sickness the whole pregnancy!! Multiple, multiple times a day right up until baby came out, it was difficult to put on the weight but I made it to 112lbs of pure baby! I would have another one in a heartbeat! We forget those little details, trust me!

  8. Oh Rach, I am so sorry to hear that the first 16 weeks were that rough for you! I am so glad Dash was there for you to give you the comfort that you needed. Dogs are so instinctive and really know how to be there for us. This was such a sweet post to read. We have a golden retriever and she is the best! You look so lovely all bundled up in that gorgeous coat! Loving the plaid, Hunters and red lips!! Can’t get enough red!!! Hoping the rest of your pregnancy is much smoother for you!!

  9. I swear you’re on a whole new level of gorgeous here, and I love this casual and relaxed (but still so stylish) look on you! I am in awe of how you handled your morning sickness with such polish and still posted gorgeous looks all the while. I am just in love with my doggies so this story warmed my heart, and I can’t wait to watch my dogs interact and cuddle with my baby someday!

  10. Your dog is the most adorable thing ever. When I saw his photo I wanted so much to hug him! I am sure he knows about the baby- my (late) dachshund “adopted” my (not so little now) brother when he was born. She knew he was an infant and behaved as if she had a puppy. The puppy was him of course :)

  12. I love that you’re so honest! That is great :-) And of course, you always look beautiful and I love your style. You’re a great inspiration!

  13. Labs make get big brothers. Mine would let my son do almost anything to him include take anything out of his mouth without setting one tooth on him. Love your blog. Just wish I had a bigger budget to recreate some of your looks.

  14. I don’t know what it’s like to be pregnant (yet!), but that sounds so difficult! Hopefully the next two trimesters will be smooth sailing.

Love the jacket and these pictures are gorgeous! The light is incredible!!

  15. I hear ya! I just barely started feeling better at about 17 weeks, which was right in time for me to start school, so that was a major blessing for me! I am already asking myself how I am going to be pregnant with my second when I have a little one running around who needs me?! I guess I will figure it out :) Dasher is such a cute pup, and congrats again on your pregnancy :)

  16. This is such a cozy look and I’m dreaming out this weather right now in a humid climate. You’ve also convinced me that I need a pair of Hunters, we get a LOT of rain here in the summer and fall too-no other shoe is practical except for my riding boots. I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been so sick, hopefully the worst of it is behind you now! It’s different for everyone. Thankfully I was never sick to my stomach like that but I did have some days with some really insane nausea-a lot of saltine crackers were consumed during the first 3-4 months! I was so sensitive to different smells. My not so nice part came later-felt great the whole time but being that I live in FL and my little one was due late August, not my ankles so much but my feet swelled up! I have narrow feet so it was super weird having shoes be too tight width-wise but just another fun aspect of pregnancy. lol. I had to get rid of a few pairs of shoes since I went up 1/4 size. You have a great shoe collection so I hope that will not be the case! Such a good pup, glad he could give you some love.

  17. Love that coat!! Aw, bless your heart, I hope you feel better soon! I did everything as natural/organic as possible during my pregnancy and I have heard that the more toxins you come in contact with, your body will naturally rid itself of them by making you sick so the baby won’t get what you consumed. ie: soda, preservatives in food, etc. This happens with a lot of women who have had miscarriages. It’s God’s way of ensure the baby is healthy. Also, beware of tuna in a can and fish in general! Pretty much all fish (especially the larger ones like tuna, swordfish, etc.) have a lot of mercury which is toxic for both you and the baby. I avoided fish altogether and took fish oil capsules from a source of wild caught fish in Norway with no traceable heavy metals, PCB’s etc. The type of prenatal vitamin you use makes a big difference too! New Chapter or Vitamin Code are both whole food-based prenatal multi vitamins and are very easy to digest even on an empty stomach, most are not! I highly recommend, I used to run a health store so I have a background in health. Wishing you well with the rest of your pregnancy.

  18. When I was pregnant with Tutu I had 2 Rottweiler dogs and they would sit guard around me, not letting anyone near me. Even protective against my husband at times and my sisters 2 kitties always want to cuddle on her belly, she is 32 weeks right now, one will even purr and the baby will start kicking and once he stops purring the baby stops as well. Animals are amazing.

  19. You look amazing…just glowing. I’m sorry you had such a tough first trimester. Thankfully I wasn’t so bad, but I was very tired and I agree the last thing I wanted to do was get dressed up!!

My little pup I think still has no clue I have a baby brewing!! I’m waiting for him to realize!!
Dasher is such a smart little guy!!

Sister Parcell was in my ward in Singapore and I got to see her recently and I just squealed at your announcement.
