    The Weekend…

    Happy Tuesday everyone! My family and I headed to Colorado over the weekend to spend a few days in the mountains. We rode four wheelers, played in the dirt and roasted lots and lots of s’mores! It was such a charming weekend and so good to be back in the place where I spent so much of my childhood.

    I’m sure you noticed the little pup who totally steals the show today! Everyone meet Dashie, my new pup. I grew up with a boxer and a lab so dogs are very dear to my heart. When I see a dog, my voice goes up about 8 octaves and I get all gushy (kind of annoying for anyone standing close).  A few months ago, my sisters got a lab, Duke and naturally, I completely fell in love with him! Fast forward to a few weeks ago, we got a call about a puppy who had not been spoken for yet, I wanted to bring him home so badly but I think what really sealed the deal was when we found out that Mr. Duke and Dash were cousins. Both Drew and I are so in love him already and can’t get over his little personality.

    Hint of Grey…

    Lately, I’ve been obsessing over cool grey tones. I think it started while we were building our home and selecting colors for the finish work. Somewhere along the way, I found myself  wanting to incorporate greys into my wardrobe as well. I spotted this Kate Spade bag last season when it was at full retail price and loved it but didn’t end up purchasing it because I wasn’t really in need of a new bag. When I spotted it at Nordstrom Rack a few days ago, I was feeling super giddy, especially because I was getting it at a fraction of the price, leaving room to grab a few more items!

    I’ve always been a Nordstrom Rack shopper, especially while I was going to college but I still love popping in to hunt down some pieces from my favorite designers, all on sale! You can now shop online at Nordstrom Rack and find all the same great designer pieces at up to 70% off! The inventory changes daily so be sure to check back often! Happy hunting!

    DIY: Lemonade Bar…

    fresh-summer-lemonade

    Summer is always one of my very favorite times of year. I love all the festivities that come with the season, especially BBQ get togethers with friends and family! Typically, when my family gets together for a BBQ, each of us have a food assignment to bring. For our Fourth of July BBQ, I was in charge of beverages and I wanted to do something more festive and creative than just bringing a bottle of lemonade and water.

    Today, I’m sharing how to put a mini Lemonade bar together, the perfect beverage addition to any summer get-together you’re either hosting or attending!

    Tray: West Elm | Glass Bottles: Macy’s | Small Bowls: Williams Sonoma | Straws: Ferbish Studio (love the red and pink too)

    You’ll need:

    {for the lemonade}

    • Two flavors of Lemonade (I used Simply Lemonade and Simply Lemonade with Blueberry)
    • One bottle of Pellegrino
    • One Lemon
    • Mint leaf
    • 1 cup Blackberries
    • 1 cup Raspberries
    • 1 cup Blueberries

    {for the “bar”}

    • A medium size tray (I got mine from West Elm)
    • Two glass bottles (I got mine from Macy’s)
    • Three small bowls
    • One mason jar
    • A stack of clear plastic cups
    • A handful of decorative straws

    Instructions:

    • Pour each flavor of lemonade into the glass bottles.
    • Add a few mint leaves, lemons and berries to the top of each bottle (see photo 6).
    • Place remaining lemons, mint leaves and berries in the three small bowls (see photo 8).
    • Place the straws into the mason jar and add the lemonade, Pellegrino, toppings and plastic cups onto the tray (see photo 8).

    Notes:

    • I place a bowl of ice and a scooper next to the tray.
    • Each person can built their own drink, but my favorite combo is: ice, a 1/3 cup pellegrino and the rest lemonade, then I top it off with a few mint leaves, lemons and berries.

    If you have any questions, leave them below. Happy Friday and thanks so much for reading!
