    Friday 10.24.14

Get The Look: Bold and Glamorous…

    makeup-look-red-lipsmakeup-look-red-lips nars-sheer-glow-foundation chanel-foundation-blender-brush red-lips-makeup-look ysl-red-lipstick

Happy Friday everyone! In case you missed it, yesterday I shared a soft and feminine makeup look that typically is my go-to during the week. Today’s look is bold and glamorous, not one I wear everyday, but perfect for a night out, a special event or anytime I’m wearing a red lip!

With this look, I like to use the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. I love this formula because it gives a little more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, but still doesn’t feel cakey. It’s soft and lightweight, almost blurring out any imperfections rather than masking them. The formula also has a slight sheen to it, which hydrates your face but doesn’t make it look or feel shiny.

Below is a list of all the products I used to get this look. Let me know if you have any questions about any of the products used, or any application questions.

    Products:

Foundation – Sheer Glow Foundation by NARS

Bronzer – Give Me Sun by MAC

Highlighter – Radiant Touch by YSL

Eye Shadow – Nude on Nude by Bobbi Brown (sold out, similar style here)

Eyeliner - ‘Perfectly Defined’ by Bobbi Brown

Mascara – Lash Domination by bareMinerals

Lip Pencil – Cherry by MAC

Lipstick – YSL Rouge Pur Couture #13

    Gloss – AERIN

    Brushes:

Foundation Brush – Chanel Blender Foundation Brush #7

    Highlighter Brush - Bobbi Brown

    Bronzer Brush – Bobbi Brown

*Tip: Most women steer clear of lip pencils, but to get a perfect line for a red lip, using a red liner is key! It’s the only way I can get a flawless line on my lip, otherwise it gets super uneven and bleeds over from my lips onto my skin.

    xo, Rach

Get The Look: Soft and Feminine…

best-fall-foundations-nordstromlaura-mercier-tinted-moisturizer-nordstrom chanel-foundation-blending-brush laura-mercier-tinted-moisturizersoft-and-feminine-beauty-lookSweater: Joie | Necklace: Gorjana | Jeans: Current Elliott | Foundation: Laura Mercier |  Lips: Liner- Bodley Bare by MAC, Lipstick- Madere by NARS, Gloss- Turkish Delight by NARS

Today, I’m sharing a soft and feminine makeup look that typically is my daily go-to. I don’t love wearing a heavy foundation, especially for an everyday look, so I always look for a lightweight formula. Right now, I’m all about using a tinted moisturizer (my favorite is by Laura Mercier with SPF). It’s lightweight, airy and doesn’t look or feel cakey, which makes for the perfect daily foundation.

Below is a list of all the products I used to get this look. Let me know if you have any questions about any of the products used, or any application questions.

    Products:

Foundation – Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, SPF 20

    Bronzer – Laguna by NARS

    Highlighter – Vanilla by NARS

    Blush – Gaiety by NARS

Eyes - Naked Basics by Urban Decay

Mascara – Bobby Brown ‘Smokey Eye’ Mascara

Eye Liner – Via Veneto by NARS

Lip Pencil – Bodley Bare by MAC

    Lipstick – Madere by NARS

Gloss - Turkish Delight by NARS

    Brushes:

Foudation Brush – Chanel Blender Foundation Brush #7

    Highlighter Brush - Bobbi Brown

    Eyeshadow Brush - Bobbi Brown

*Tip: I have a weird issue with my hands touching my face. I HATE it! When I apply my foundation, I absolutely can not use my hands to apply it so I use this brush. It blends foundation in perfectly and keeps the oils from your hands off your face. I swear it helps me avoid breakouts!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a more bold and glamorous makeup look!

    ‘My Burberry’…

    my-burberry-new-perfume

There is something so magical about a London garden. Over the last year, I’ve begun collecting home and garden books to place around my home. Through burying my nose in these books, I’ve become completely inspired by English gardens. While Drew and I were designing our backyard, I drew inspiration from various gardens in England, particularly gardens located near London. When Nordstrom asked if I would participate in the ‘My Burberry’ launch on nordstrom.com I immediately got giddy and gave a big YES!!! Because well, it’s Burberry, I’ve been such a fan of the brand since highschool, but it wasn’t until I read the story of the fragrance when I really fell in love with the scent and grew even more excited to share it with all of you!

‘My Burberry’ draws inspiration from London gardens, specifically, a London garden after the rain. Something so majestic comes to mind when I envision this scene, the scent truly brings it to life. One of my favorite features of the fragrance is that it can be worn any time – day or night. It’s casual yet dressy, classic yet modern.

The iconic Burberry Trench was another form of inspiration for the fragrance. I’ve been dreaming of owning a Burberry trench for years, and when I read that the fragrance was patterned after the classic trench, I decided it was time to invest! The trench really pulled together my initial vision for this post.

I would love to know your thoughts on the new fragrance, hope you love it as much as I do!
